Common questions
How should I mount my phone?
Use a secure handlebar or stem mount, pointing straight along the bike. Any tilt between upright and flat works, in portrait or landscape. After mounting, tap the level icon on the Ride screen and calibrate with the bike held upright and still. Recalibrate whenever you move or re-angle the mount.
How accurate is the lean angle?
MotoStats combines the gyroscope with the lean your speed and turn rate require, so readings stay steady through long corners. It also fine-tunes its idea of upright from straight-line riding on every ride. All figures are estimates from your phone’s sensors and GPS. Accuracy varies with your phone, mount, calibration and GPS signal, and is not guaranteed, so treat them as a guide only. See the Terms of Use.
Will it record with the screen locked?
Yes. Recording continues with the screen locked. Allow location access while using the app, and keep Low Power Mode off for the most reliable recording. A lit screen uses more battery, so plug in on long rides.
Where are my rides?
They are saved locally on your iPhone. There is no account or sync service. You can export rides as GPX or CSV from Settings or from each ride’s share button.
How do I delete a ride?
Swipe left on the ride in the Rides list and tap Delete.
